Lately life has gotten in the way of my posting. I have been sewing, in fact I'm working on an outfit that I have to finish within the next few days so I can wear it at my son's high school graduation. But, I'll post a review and more pics when the outfit is completed. It's a tunic top and pants from New Look 6602. The top is done, but I just need to sit down and finish the pants.
For those who love to sew, but may not have the patience for projects that take a long time to make. This is about me and how I fulfill my need for creativity. Some things work out great - others, not so much. But, I'm willing to give just about any sewing project a try.

Frustration
Have you ever started a project (sewing or otherwise) and just gotten so frustrated with it that you gave up? Well, that's what happened to this "easy" top I was making. I was working on the same one as shown on the model in the picture. I checked on Pattern Review and someone said it takes patience to get the ruffles at the neckline to work out right. She said it was worth it in the end. Well, not so much for me. I like the top in the picture and I liked the one that was reviewed on PR, but I am completely confused by the instructions. It should be simple, but I just can't see it (or do it). I feel like it's such a shame because I really like the material I chose (it's in the background of the picture). It's called "Riviera" fabric and it's so soft and silky. I got it at JoAnn Fabrics and I think I'll have to get more since this just isn't working out! I should have listened to myself and made one of the other views on the pattern envelope. Live and learn. I have 2 weeks until my son graduates from high school, so I think I'll focus on sewing for that.

Sewing room organization...
Well, as I was working on my latest project this morning, I realized that my sewing area is an absolute mess! I need to take the time to get things organized. I also really need to do an inventory of what fabrics I have. There is so much and so many bins that I sometimes forget where things are. But...I don't feel like it. Maybe this weekend (or maybe not). We'll see.

So much fabric, so little time...
Although I told myself that I wasn't going to buy any fabric this year, that hasn't worked out (not even a little bit). Anywhoo, I did buy some spring floral fabrics from Joann Fabrics and G Street Fabrics this past week. I also bought about 5 patterns recently for tops and dresses. But on the good side (or better side), I did start and finish a light-weight robe for myself this past Saturday. This should be great for spring and summer. Otherwise, I have plenty to keep me busy!
