For those who love to sew, but may not have the patience for projects that take a long time to make. This is about me and how I fulfill my need for creativity. Some things work out great - others, not so much. But, I'm willing to give just about any sewing project a try.

McCalls 6408 (again)
Here is the same pattern I made in the wine color, this time in ivory knit. This is View A from the pattern. I usually shy away from light colors, but I really like this material, so here it is. This is really comfortable and can go with a lot of different things.

McCall's cardigan 6408
I also finished this cardigan. I actually made this on Saturday. I left the bottom unhemmed and just serged it. I made view C which is longer and has the asymetrical (pointy) edges. This is a Nancy Zieman pattern. I like this because it's easy to sew. And because it's Nancy Zieman, she gives instructions based on 10, 20 or more minutes to sew. In other words, depending on the amount of time you have at any given time, you can easily break this project up into managable chunks of time. I have already cut out one of the other views in a ivory colored knit. BTW, this is a knit only pattern.

Finally...
I finally finished the pants I started about a month ago. I really hadn't intended for it to take this long, but I lost my sewing "mojo" and I had to get it back! So I completed the project. It's Simplicity 2562. I made the view without cuffs. While I like the pants and they were very easy to make, I think that if I made them again, I would cut them a size smaller. I started to do that, but I followed
the directions and went with what the pattern says is the right size for me (16, curvy). This is one of the Amazing Fit patterns, so you chose a size based on your measurements for slim, average or curvy. I think I could have gone with the 16 average or 14 curvy. Anyway, this was also my first attempt at making a fly. This went surprisingly well. The directions were clear on what to do. I'm not sure if I would use this pattern again only because the pants are fuller than what I would usually like, but they did turn out well and they fit well.
